MCA Programme

About the Programme
MCA is a three year program that is designed by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University - the affiliating University. The norms and standards for delivery of the course - as laid down by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, and Government of India - are followed at the Institute. The MCA program is divided into six semesters. First year is devoted to basic concepts in computer applications. Second year is concentrates on higher level concepts in computer applications. Third year is devoted to specialization and industrial project. In addition to this, every semester has a paper referred as Non University Examination Scheme (NUES) equal to the weightage of one paper, which allows the Institute to expose the students beyond the laid down syllabi and conduct research.



Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the admission to MCA programmes is:
Bachelor's Degree of a recognized University in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate and must also have passed Mathematics and English at least at the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the CBSE . 

OR

BCA/BIT/BIS of a recognized University of at least three years duration with at least 50% marks in aggregate or any qualification recognized as equivalent there too. 

OR

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Admission Procedure
The admissions are carried out strictly on merit basis through a Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by GGSIP University. The students are admitted to the institute of their choice through a central counseling conducted by the University. For more details: www.ipu.ac.in
